- Starts and runs at low voltage. Will run down to 60% of nominal voltage
- Starts under full load
- Runs on 50/60 cycle power
- Can be run on DC voltage ratio of any pump style (universal motors)
- Motors are single phase and ate rated at intermittent duty as per CSA dedinition (30 min. full load)
- Lighter than comparable Capacitor/Induction motor pumps
- Flow tates the same whether 50 or 60 cycle
- Suitable for use with long extension cords
- Pioneer in this type of pump - 1958

- Longer life than Universal/Permanent Magnet motors
- Quiet running, lower dBA than universal motors
- continuous running (define per CSA and Power Team definition, PE21 & PE200)
- CSA approved (except PE2000 or PE4000)
- Motors that run at 50 cycles produce 5/6 the flow of those that run at 60 cycles
- Induction motors run ± 10% of rated voltage
- Thermal overload projection to prevent overheating
